AdmitOne Security, launched an analytics solution which can tell users apart through the way people type keystrokes on a keyboard when logging into an account. The AdmitOne Security Scout detects by the speed of the user’s keystrokes and how hard the person hits the keys. This is especially handy when users try to share an online subscription that only one person is paying for. The company has come up with a way to verify just how many people are using a single account, and since its start in April, customers have been paying AdmitOne for this specific job. The company charges its customers about $25,000 an year, which in turn saves on a lot of lost revenue for its clients.
AdmitOne Security Scout software needs 12 keystrokes to recognize a user. On those keystrokes, the software records 47 different measurements. Among the important measurements is the amount of time someone holds down a key and the time between keystrokes. Security Scout then presents the data on the account sharing in a graphical way.
