After all the trouble that has come NYT’s way, About.com’s laying off 19 employees shouldn’t be surprising. The online encyclopedia knelt down to tough economic times, although this hasn’t come off as a first step to cut costs. About.com had already frozen pay raises and cut short traveling budgets, before it came down to cutting short its workforce.
