Twitter Fans are going to love this one and by fans I mean those who would spend any given time to decorate their Twitter profiles. Twitrounds is a new startup that provides users with backgrounds for Twitter pages. It has more than 300 backgrounds to offer as of now with more making way into its data base with time. It’s pretty easy to install those backgrounds, just click the thumbnails and you will see the option to directly post the background to your profile or simply download the background and install them manually. Pretty easy and they do have a few interesting backgrounds which I won’t mind using for my Twitter profile and no I am not a Twitter fan boy.

If you chanced upon an app at the App Store that had a price tag you can’t afford and would love to be informed if the app’s price decreases then Free App Alert is the place for you. The site checks the App Store regularly for the prices of the apps available. What’s so great about it? Well here you can find which ones of the apps have gone from paid to free. These might include full apps or simple promos that let you get a feel of what the app is like. Pretty useful and fills the void for all those iPhone owners who needed a place or should I say a directory for free iPhone apps.
What ever the rumors were about MySpace’s acquisition of iLike, they have turned out to be true as MySpace confirmed the acquisition. Its CEO, Owen Van Natta stated that after acquisition, iLike will serve a bigger purpose instead of being limited to music and would expand to all categories of entertainment. What do those categories include remains undisclosed. It will be interesting to see how fruitful is this acquisition for both parties involved. But the timing of this acquisition (is definitely a coincidence), following Facebook’s acquisition of FriendFeed puts a question; was this just to compete with the other and show that there is a continuous expansion among the competitors.
Searching for a job in education industry or organizations looking for the candidate in this sector refer to PostLearn. It has motto to aggregate ads from both employers and employees (to be) relating to education. It not only posts the jobs by the users but is also connected to various job boards across world wide web.
The site being designed in a comprehensive manner is simple to use. As to when you are posting the job you can mention the criterion and location of the job. If unluckily it is not available at the instant you would be prompted via email as soon as an ad is put up fulfilling your requirement. The ad would be posted immediately and distributed through search queries and email subscribers at a cost of $65 USD.
Music Streaming service Spotify is making in roads to the Android platform with Droidify. The app is an unofficial one as it has been developed by its die hard fans and lets you search, create playlists and listen to the countless songs it has for the users. The app would have definitely done good but under agreement, Spotify has asked the app to be taken down. Well, you can’t really do anything given the agencies who are always ready to fire a lawsuit on anything that is close to illegal music distribution. To the contrary, I still think the app needs to be there for the Android based devices and it can really fare well.
The much talked and anticipated revamped inbox for Facebook seems to breathing, not for all but a few lucky users. I haven’t got my hands at the new version but from the pictures it appears to be a whole lot cleaner. The other notable mentions include the better filtering option for read/unread messages plus the use of overlay instead of thrusting a new tab or window for message composing makes it appear way better. And as always, Facebook has managed to get closer to a feed like appearance by cleaning up the cluttered threaded messages. The entire thing appears much better and I bet it’s going to be faster, by the way is Facebook really heading on to its Lite version?
There is a lot Yahoo has in plans for its microblogging platform, Yahoo Meme as it quietly rolled out its version in Spanish. Why? Perhaps it wants to enter the markets globally in the language natives speak. The option to go for Spanish appears quite justified too as the language is the second most popular language but why so secretly? I am not sure but perhaps the reason for such a quiet release might be that it would just shut it down in the same secrecy. Yahoo Meme is a stew of Twitter and Tumblr and works pretty much like the many microblogging services out there. To be honest, it appears a bit better and fills in a better purpose than its ridiculous new site: Know Your Mojo.
