Wikipedia emerged as a encyclopedia for the people by the people (doesn’t it sound a bit too democratic?) and it has lived up to its name with an exponential growth and a hub of information. The encyclopedia reached a milestone as it added the three millionth article. The growth has sort of stunted in the recent past but it still fulfills the demand of almost anyone who is looking for something. Plus there is an immense room for it to flourish, given that it is available in numerous languages. Let’s see how the encyclopedia grows in the future, which I bet is pretty bright for it.

There is always some sort of news coming from Ifbyphone, which provides customers with ways to improve customer services. The current news states that Ifbyphone has helped small businesses save quite a bit on spending. Its Voice broadcasting service has been efficiently utilized by Weed Man franchises, a network of locally owned and operated lawn care professionals all across North America. The network has saved more than $1,000 a month using its Voice Broadcasting service. Sounds pretty nice as Ifbyphone’s platform has been leveraged to its maximum potential and small businesses can really fare better on saving cash.
LifePics raised $1.98 Million for its b2b photo sharing site in a new round of funding. The company which has been in works for almost a decade now has provided both photographers and businesses associated to photography to accept orders online as well as offer services. Photo sharing sites have everything to make use of online and LifePics with more than 20,000 stores that are its customers, the service is doing pretty well to stay in business for an even longer period.
I feel like throwing a boot showering Nambu Networks with flowers and salute its confusion on what it has to do with Tr.im. Seriously, there is a limit to being indecisive and they are setting new standards on that as they plan to make the URL shortening service Open Sourced. Wait, wait, weren’t they shutting it down? Oh, sorry, they were trying to sell it, no not selling it and keeping it running… what nonsense! Well at least they have decided (hopefully) they will make it open source which is a pretty good idea and something they should have done earlier. Their decision to shut it down all because Bit.ly was Twitter’s default URL shortener sounded pretty lame and damaged their credibility to accept the challenge. I mean there are many others out there already and doing much worse than Tr.im. Glad they got this in their head, I just hope they are done with this and stick to this decision.
On demand customer support solution provider Zendesk has had investors interested in its idea as it raised $6 Million in its series B round of funding. The investment came from Benchmark Capital along with its partner Peter Fenton joined Zendesk’s board of directors. The round follows the earlier Series A which it raised in May.
Ever wondered how much time we waste surfing over the net jumping from one page to another. Sometimes even exhausting ourselves trying to manage all the windows we end up opening. Think of how much time it could save you if all those services from various sites were found in one window. Well I stopped wondering all that as soon as I came across 44Tips.com. A site rendering almost all the services I need at one place, utilizing these services otherwise would have definitely drained considerable amount of energy.
