image thumb80 Digg: Redirecting users to Digg homepage is how DiggBar driving users mad

The Digg bar has got everything going wrong for itself. The current change has sort of set a fire to the bar’s already poor reputation as it fails to send users directly to the article if you use Digg URL shortener, if you are not logged on to the service. What nonsense! Why would a user who doesn’t want to use Digg go for such a long route to read an article? The first impression, which is also very true is that Digg wants to make sure that every person who isn’t a diggy should become one. I am not a big fan of Digg and I am not using it to share articles. Kevin Rose on the other hand is all lost and didn’t knew why this has gone live and will most probably have it killed. Why? Because this is the cheapest way to get traffic.

image thumb79 Amazon removes books from Kindles, does owning real books differ from owning digital?

How do you feel when you find something that is legally yours missing? I will be angry, to put it simply and I bet many Kindle owners were too when they found George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm missing from their devices. Amazon deleted copies of those books from users’ Kindle library, it wasn’t any legal issue but simply that the publisher didn’t want to put those books as Kindle editions. However Amazon has made it clear that in future it will not resort to remotely deleting the copies on their own. This raises a question about ownership rights and how ownership varies between the two.

James Lynch initiated the Twitition and it has already gained quite a momentum. Lunch used Twibbon, a service that lets you put up small icon on your profile picture. Many have termed the IE6 to be the biggest hindrance to the development of the Web and while they might be right, the same had given Microsoft the majority it has in the browser market and if sites end support for the browser, that share may fall drastically.
