The only way you are safe on the web is if your eyes are all open to check if you are at the correct URL or that you have come across a warning news of some wild phishing activity. Well today Facebook users became a victim of it as well as users begun receiving messages in their inbox (message after the jump). When users click the URL present in the message they are taken to fbaction.net and are displayed with a page that is similar to the Facebook login. If you enter your credentials here, the obvious happens and your account is used to send more of these messages to your friends. Just remember that no matter what happens and no matter what site you access via links on a page, make sure you read the URL to ensure it’s the correct one.
Zoho, creators of Office Suite which include Writer, Wiki, Planner, etc in dynamic pages along with tools to create online applications will now be available on numerous mobile devices. Although Zoho was available on a few Windows based mobile and the iPhone, but that changes as it expands its availability to numerous other devices as well. This would bring applications like Zoho Mail, Calendar, Writer, Sheet, etc to Android, BlackBerry and several Symbian devices.
Wakoopa the social networking site that monitors the various software running on your system has just a made jump by releasing its State of the Apps report. This shows the data collected over a quarter associated to the desktop software and web services. Where did the data come from? From over 75,000 registered users of Wakoopa who were running its desktop tracking software and providing the company with data on the software they use. It highlighted numerous trends that include what browser did most people prefer, this would sound alarming to Microsoft as Firefox and Chrome continue to become favorites with many users worldwide. Mobile communication provider, Truphone has taken another major step by bringing its VoIP based service to the iPhone. This would enhance user experience for instant messaging and account management to name a few. Apart from that, the upgrade would also provide users with ease of communication via all their IMs from a single page, removing the need of continually trotting from one application to another. This new update is pretty slick and will add more to user experience given that Truphone already provides users to send free instant messages to numerous IMs when they are using it in the WiFi mode.
