Users can also benefit from third party video editing tools and download in.mov for editing these. Oh and there is one more, it lets you test its recorder API.

Google seems to be preparing to give Amazon a tough challenge in the E-Reader market by teaming with Sony. The deal would have Google giving away 500,000 free e-books to Sony eBook Store. These books have their copyrights expired and would give Google a major position in the Sony eBook store. In a press release Steve Haber, president of the Digital Reading Business Division at Sony Electronics stated:

Cisco is set to push itself into consumer electronic market as it buys Pure Digital. The acquisition is set to be worth $590 million, a deal which is to be an all stock one. The acquisition will close by end of fourth quarter as Cisco would pay $15 million as equity incentives. Pure Digital is the maker of the widely known Flip Video cameras. In a press release, Ned Hooper, senior vice president of Cisco’s Corporate Development and Consumer Groups, stated:

Iffbyphone, a telephone automation application company that helps businesses improve their customer support services has introduced its first BlackBerry app. The new app provides features like conference calling and voice broadcast messaging to BlackBerry users. This would let users create groups out of their contacts for conference calls and Iffbyphone will additionally provide the first 100 minutes of use per month to those who use the service. In order to use the conference calling function a BlackBerry user creates a list of participants from among his or her stored contacts and can then initiate an impromptu conference call immediately or schedule a future call, all with one click. Furl has finally decided where it’s heading as it becomes a part of Diigo, after being acquired earlier last week. Users can continue to benefit from the service as they can export all their data from Furl to Diigo. Diigo itself has gained widespread popularity for its innovative approach to online research tools and knowledge sharing. We hope this proves good for the Furl users.

Twitter made a much waited announcement earlier, it will open its OAuth for third party applications. This would let third party apps to directly access user account information without the need for them to enter those. Although this is useful, it does open a few glitches, specially related to abuse. Definitely those issues have been looked up before they opened it up for third parties, this could still prove painful in time. Though I don’t think it will that great an issue, given there are already many apps that require users to enter their information.
