Modu has closed in another round of funding as it raised $7 million from Qualcomm. The startup has been pretty successful ever since it launched last year, bringing in enough cash to help it further boost its growth in the mobile arena. There isn’t much regarding what is to be done with the cash, but Modu doesn’t really appear to be the in the ground to have it last long enough.

Visitors from there on will be directed to the information site, surprisingly enough RCN hasn’t facilitated its users with an alternate start page, something they should have instead of just bowing out from providing world news. Though not the full release, it’s ready enough to be loaded and tested by users/reviewers (not as yet). The IE8 has tweaked up Web Slices that enables monitoring of web services, updating you even if you aren’t on that page. It includes various other features that protect your system from attacks (phishing, etc). But the most important feature is the Compatibility View that would show older website designed for previous versions to be seen without any flaws.
While developers may be lost wondering what app is a hit on the variety of devices it’s been created for, Flurry has managed to answer that. The firm launched its own app analytic tool that works on all major devices (iPhone, Android) and lets developers learn how the app they have created scores with users. The tool has been pretty successful for as many as 300 developers have already signed up for it since October. It’s very effective, primarily because it offers real time stats on the apps usage and that it will help developers constantly improve their apps, based on each ones success or failure.
