Someone has just got a clue on what exactly is the GDrive from the reference found in a file used by Google Pack. It basically contains local information that is sent to translators used by the online storage service. If that is true, GDrive would be another platform that enables users to store files in any format and access them from a mobile device. Google appears to be busy tweaking its tools (and terminating them as well).

If you dislike Chrome but love its Tab Page and want to use it in Firefox then get your hands at the Google Toolbar 5 for Firefox. As we all know the tab page provides you a a quick link to the most recent pages you have visited/recently closed tabs (Though Firefox had been talking of launching a similar feature and we are waiting eagerly). You can do one additional thing with the toolbar that is remove thumbnails or disable the page entirely. However there are certain issues, like the browser slows down when you download the toolbar, though very seldom but enough that I put off the toolbar. Maybe my system has grudges against everything Google, give in your feedback if you install it.
Looks like YouTube got our message when we said that adding annotations be made easier when it introduced the feature last year. Now users can directly add one without the need of opening up an editor, just click on the video and a menu would pop up so you can insert one anywhere you like. Use the slide bar to set the duration for which it appears as well as jump across directly to annotations instead of wait watching the entire video. Apart from making the videos more interactive, the videos can very well get a bit annoying with excessive comments popping up every time, but then it shouldn’t be of worry as users can always turn them off.
Alright there might be a countless Travel portals on the web, but AdventureDrop, though a startup deserves a worthy mention. Let’s go point wise here, it looks exactly what a travel portal should look like, interactive, one that has you spending time exploring it (even if you don’t intend to travel for the next hundred years). Then the entire portal has been built on the wiki platform, meaning it is open for all to edit and share loads of adventure they have with the community. I might sound overhyped but it definitely made an impression on me.
Lenovo is spending some cash to buy startups and this time it has got its hands at Switchbox Live. The startup had been founded by ex-Microsoft exec, Michael Sievert last year along with Robert Dickerson and Blake Ramsdell. The three will be continuing at Lenovo and Sievert will become the SVP. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed, pretty much like the case is with Switchbox that’s only known for development of consumer technologies.
If you think that the iPhone 3G was the last of iPhone to come, think again as reports point on further development on the device. MacRumors caught eye on a code that talks of an iPhone 2.1 model. This is pretty possible as the initial iPhone model had the 1.1 label while the 3G was labeled 1.2. More importantly the iPod that has already seen transformation carries the same label as talked of in the firmware. So what exactly is the new iPhone going to be? I guess the modifications will be more internal than altering its dimensions. Let’s wait and see.
AdMob added another $12.5 million to push overall funding to $47.2 million. The current funding for the mobile ad network was provided by DFJ that adds to its already strong backed list of investors that include names like Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners. AdMob would use these funds to further expand its offering for both advertisers and publishers.
