With the web already swarming with online shopping and bargain spots; eDrool joins the line. The service lets users to compare prices and grab coupons or bargains that they are always on the hunt for. Upon performing a search users are shown the prices of the item at various stores and given the percentage they can save on each. Users can define the max and minimum price their pockets can afford. Definitely not unique and users won’t be needing a walk through to learn how it works around.
If you like watching Reality TV shows, then here’s a social network for you: RealityWanted. The service offers a connection for people wanting to be reality TV stars with the producers of reality TV shows. You can sign-up for free, and get going by putting up your profile. The site’s main attraction however is casting – you can check out what vacancies are available, and apply through RealityWanted.
Coming out of a 9-month private Beta Zigtag brings users (another) social bookmarking tool. Zigtag claims to make bookmarking easier through adding a layer of semantics to the tags. The service differs from other similar ones as it works through ‘understanding’ your tags – searches out tagged items carrying different meanings.
Through Zigtag you can categorize your bookmarks and share them as well. Two years before its launch, the site had to say their service would:
What will be your choice; have an iPhone with a physical keyboard or is the virtual one just perfect? There is news and mockups of an iPhone Pro that Gizmodo says might have a physical keyboard. In my opinion adding a physical keyboard may very well kill the iPhone (for me at least), it will add to the weight, the size and might just cause errors in running a few apps. The other reason is that someday soon the physical keyboards might just disappear and aren’t we seeing it already? The Android team is serious about replacing the physical one with a virtual keyboard and the BlackBerry has already done that.
Beta 1 of Windows 7 was spotted on torrent trackers, and I thought to share the usability experience. The Beta 1 is available on torrent trackers as an ISO file – Windows 7 is notably quite similar to Vista, in fact differences might go unnoticed. ZDNet’s Adrian Kingsley-Hughes tried out the version and here’s what he thought of it:
After reaping success with their iPhone app, Ocarina, the makers of it have brought a new one named Zephyr. The app is quite different as it doesn’t require you to blow into the microphone to produce notes rather works on touch. Just type in your message or simply draw and the app turns those taps into music. In case you don’t like what you have drawn, simply use the multi touch feature of the iPhone to delete or shake to remove it all otherwise share yours with those around the world. If you loved Ocarina, this one’s a must have in your device as well.
The introduction of netbooks have given notebook manufacturers something to be happy about, as these are increased sales. Take Amazon for example – 17 out of 25 top-selling notebooks were (round about $500) netbooks. This’s a rarity as notebook sales had been steadily falling each year; whereas since the introduction of netbooks – notebook companies have started to breathe easily.
Does the word Cuil
make you remember something? Yeah that’s right the search engine made by ex-googlers which aimed at changing the way people searched, and yes the same search engine claiming to have more than 10 billion pages indexed. Today we saw a severe drop in the use of the much hyped search engine based on the numbers and graphs we gathered from Google Trends
, Alexa
, Compete
and Quantcast
,.
Released in July 2008, the search engine was massively criticized and even was accused that its indexing methods brought down many websites.
