Samsung just announced the launch of it’s Android phone through Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile, in the U.S. – coming June. The Samsung smart phone (touch screen) will be an adaptation of it’s other (iPhone competitor) product Omnia, and Instinct. The phone is just another addition to the surge of smart gadgets following iPhone’s launch.

We covered Outwit in August, which automates the task of data collection (images, texts, etc) across a page has released its latest Firefox extension, Outwit Images. The extension is free and is fully compatible with Mac OS, Windows and Linux. Clickpass a service that brings accessibility to users by letting them use their accounts over other services like MSN, Gmail, etc has been acquired by Synthasite. The terms and price for which the acquisition has been made remains undisclosed as CEO Clickpass joins the rank of Synthasite. I personally think a partnership would have been much better, given the use of Clickpass, which is pretty short lived as more services will move over to the OpenID and the service’s need would disappear. Nonetheless the service at present is definitely useful and Synthasite can use it build itself on.

BusinessWeek has got hold of Digg’s financial statements, and man o man they are really scary. In 2007 the company’s revenues were $4.8 million while it spent $7.6 million – thereby posting a net loss of $2.8 million. In the first three quarters of 2008, Digg’s revenues were $6.4 million, whereas it spent $10.4 million – thereby racking in losses of  $4 million. At an annualized rate this brings the losses for 2008 to be around $5.3 million.
