The company running MyQuire, a productivity centered social network that enables users to manage tasks, photos and projects has been acquired. There aren’t much details about this acquisition so far as CEO Michael Dawson states that the buyer doesn’t want his name out. However there was an e-mail mentioning the acquisition:

This holiday season online-shoppers intend to spend less than they did last year, states a survey result that was carried out by J. P. Morgan. The survey on U.S. consumers brought the fact that 30 percent of the online shoppers would be spending less this year, but still 19 percent of these think their online purchases will be higher. Where this is found, 12 percent of total shoppers say they plan on spending more this year.
A recent survey by Leichtman Research Group has revealed that 18% of the HDTV owners think that they are watching HD shows when actually they are not. The survey was carried out through a telephone on 1,302 adults aged above 18. Here are some of the findings of the survey:
Lately Twitter third party services have been on the rise, allowing Twitter-users to upgrade on their tweets. Like this new service: BigTweet which works like a bookmarking site and lets you share your favorites (Web pages) on Twitter, as well as offer a 280 character writing space for your tweets.
Holidays have a way of bringing a change to the market trends, especially in the sales department, as shoppers crowd malls to buy gifts for themselves and their loved ones. Though with changing trends the books section has seen a drop with readers switching to online resources to enjoy their hobby while working on their computers. This has been on the rise since a few years now and with Amazon Kindle and different iPhone apps bringing better services – it’s rising further.
Amazon’s Kindle has already sold out its e-books stock for the holiday season and says that the current Kindle is on backorder for at least another 11 to 13 weeks; a notice on the sites says:

Well many a firms may be offering discounts and CabEasy is doing the same for people. The startup enables people save money on cab fare by letting travelers list their taxi travel plans and find someone else who takes the same route and split fares. The problem I see here is that once CabEasy gets a greater number travelers using its services, the plan will get a lot more confusing, I mean what if a dozen people end up getting into the same taxi?
