Paris-based Awdio offers a unique music service that connects the best clubs around the world, and allows them to broadcast their music online, live. Awdio has introduced this new model where live access to music will be free (supported by ads). The company has recently appointed a new CEO: Julien Ulrich, previously the GM for Virgin music download service, France.

The Chinese government has banned 10 online video sites and has warned 17 others. The sites banned were accused of violating the regulations. An interesting thing about these sites is that none of them were banned due to piracy. The charges on the sites include the display of horrific, inappropriate and violent content, running a service without permission, etc. The sites warned includes 12 video sites and a game service provider. Among the warned sites is VeryCD, which is the country’s largest eDonkey indexing site.

A U.S. court reached its decision that business methods, such as Amazon.com Inc’s one-click to buy goods on the Internet, cannot be patented. “The court stated that the patent application in question – a method for reducing the risk of sudden changes in energy cots – was not a machine and did not result in a transformation, both standards set by the U.S. Supreme Court for patentability.” As covered by Reuters. This shakes the legal status of Amazon’s (AMZN) 1-click patent.

Condé Nast is making some lay-offs in its Portfolio.com website, leaving about 5 employees to the most, from 20. The cuts will start from next week till Christmas. The magazine will now be published 10 times a year, down by 2 issues, and will cut 5% of its editorial budget. Whereas the Men’s Vogue will be published twice an year, from 10 issues an year. The magazine had been shrinking down from some time now, and it’s not surprising to see this move.

This move could definitely put it ahead of its competitors as this appealing feature puts embroidery on shirts, likely to draw a large number of new customers. The embroidery gives a lasting look to the clothes, as it doesn’t wear-off because its sewn into the clothing. The function is as such that after selecting a suitable logo or design, users upload their image to Zazzle and choose the size they prefer it as, on their pieces of clothing. Zazzle then feeds the image to its automated sewing machines, after which a computerized system does most of the work. Though a team of human workers then manually ensure that every design matches the users images. The average price range is $10-$20, depending on the number of stitches required.

motorola logo1 Motorola says no Android phones until mid 2009 Motorola saw sales go down by more than 30 percent from last year, leaving it with 8.4 percent market share. The third largest handset manufacturer. The company’s plans for its own line of Android sets hooked on social networking, as it hopes to launch by next year’s holiday season; changing its previous plans of launching in the second quarter or 2009. And as Motorola has announced to go through with 3,000 lay offs (5,000 rumored) over the next two quarters, the company hopes to concentrate fully on regaining its market share through a new range of phone sets, as its competitors have done.

With Google known for experimenting new stuff before it introduces it to the public, we have yet another one waiting to be experimented upon . Google has added Accessible View places a blue box around the search results,making it easier to navigate through search results. It also aids those with low vision problems by magnifying items. It also speaks what’s being displayed on the screen if users have a screen reader.

The experiment works best with Firefox 3 with support for additional browsers in due time.
