facebook digg logo thumb ‘Digg’ makes an announcement on ‘Facebook Connect’You may have heard rumors related to Digg’s probable acquisition by Google. Though the rumor proved wrong, which we have mentioned in our last post. Now Digg’s founder Kevin Rose has announced the service’s integration with ‘Facebook Connect’.

The new service, which was uncovered at Facebook’s f8 conference yesterday, lets you share stuff with the third party sites using Facebook account. If you have a Facebook account, you can very easily become a Digg client, using the new ‘Facebook Connect’ service. Mini-Feed on the social network will show you the stories you have dugg.

image204 ‘Facebook, MySpace I am growing!’ hi5 screams in success At times we just ignore the achievements and growth of someone in the light of giants making big leaps and its quite similar in the Web world too. While we get to hear so much about Facebook and MySpace; another social network hi5 is left unnoticed. Why should it be noticed if at all when we have the other two? Well the reason is that despite being an underdog, hi5 is expanding its horizons at a much higher rate as compared to the other two.

According to MG Siegler, hi5 has grown by over 79% in the half of 2008, almost double of what the top social networks have achieved so far. The unique visitors have increased by a figure of around 25 million to 56.4 million (December 2007 stats read them to be 31.4 million).

facebook1 Facebook loses to MySpace at home! With Facebook’s f8 going on in San Francisco, showing its global dominance in the social networking grounds. Back at home, MySpace takes the cake away back at home as it continues to grow to be the largest social network along with having a market share of visits tipped at over 3.5 times that of Facebook.

image202 Facebook loses to MySpace at home! Heather Dougherty at Hitwise comes out with an analysis of the performance. The over all analysis shows an increase in Facebook’s traffic by 23% where as that of MySpace dropped by 29%. The average time spent by each visitor reflects the growth with time spent on MySpace going down by 4% and that of Facebook increasing by 41%.

microsoft ‘Microsoft firing on all cylinders’; Announces reorganization With a quite a lot of hiccups up late within the news circles related to Microsoft, the company has made an important announcement regarding the makeover (or should I say a bit of alterations) of its Windows and Online Services business.

The release included the division of Platforms and Services Division (PSD) into two groups namely; Windows/Windows Live and Online Services and both of them asked to report to CEO Steve Ballmer. The announcement didn’t end up there but followed up with the confirmation of President PSD, Kevin Johnson’s exit from the company. This will take a bit of time until at least the transition is completed smoothly.

The San Francisco based company has raised $1.3 million to enhance their services. The amount was raised from Baseline Ventures, Michael Dearing and unknown angel investors.
