Last week we reported about the outage of Amazon’s S3 storage service in the U.S. and Europe. Both regions experienced “elevated error rates”. The service which also went down on February, saw a downtime of almost 8 hours this time. Amazon, now has made an announcement regarding their service outage.
Amazon’s announcement reads:

Last month we reported the merger of XM-Sirius as indicated by Federal Communications Commission. Now after a long delay, the FCC has approved the merger of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., last night. The decision came out after a 3-2 voting which was in favour of the merger. The $3.6 billion merger finally came to an end after a vote by Deborah Taylor Tate. Her vote came after both the companies voluntarily agreed to pay a fine of $19.7 million in order to settle a previous violation of FCC rule.
Confirming the final vote on Friday night, the FCC Chairman, Kevin Martin said:

The online world is a very huge place and according to Google they knew about it a long time ago. The first Google index which was released in 1998 contained around 26 million pages which increased to 1 billion in 2000. Google executives are expected to face Italian prosecutors in line with failing to monitor a third party content which was posted on the Italian version of their site, back in 2006. The Italian prosecutors are getting ready to file a charge against 4 Google employees, who they think were responsible.

World’s largest network of local groups, Meetup, has raised capital from Union Square Ventures. The site allows people to manage a local group or find the old ones which are already having get together.
The site was founded in 2002 and has prominent board of directors like the eBay founder and Chairman, Pierre Omidyar, Meetup co-founder, Scott Heiferman, etc.
