icahn carl lost thumb Yahoo uses ‘Yahoo!’ to battle Icahn; Have a message for Stockholders

Yahoo has finally taken an a full throttle at dismantling Carl Icahn off the command seat he is trying to be in by reshaping Yahoo and its management board. The chain at anti Icahn-ism began when Icahn voiced his opinion asking Jerry to stop his bullshit; which was Jerry’s stubbornness at not selling off to Microsoft. From there on Jerry stepped up and asked Stock holders to not trust Icahn at any proposal and then he jointly attacked the tag team of Microsoft/Icahn telling them that he has no plans at hanging his boots on Yahoo.

The deal with Microsoft has seen many facets, ones that create a Shakespearean limbo in the web world. The deal was called off by Yahoo in favor of the Search partnership with Google, it breathed fresh air and the blame for previous failure for a no deal situation was put up on the bankers before Yahoo officially declined the Microsoft/Icahn proposal at reshaping Yahoo’s managerial board. Up till now when Yang and Yahoo showed some concern only if Microsoft came with something better. But now it seems obvious that the major issue of concern for Yahoo here is Icahn and that of winning the trust of its stockholders. And today the battle has been brought in the open against the aging investor who according to Yahoo is rocking along the waves trying desperately to mint money out of his stock in Yahoo.

logo Facebook sues StudiVZ; I will take you to the court!!! When you start taking steps at being a knockoff of a site that is the largest social network and continually expanding its horizons; you are asking for trouble. StudiVZ had done the same and Facebook has taken the matter to court as reported by FT.

StudiVZ claims to be the largest and the most successful social networking site in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with 10 million active users. It has been blamed for replicating almost the whole of Facebook; from features to services. The only difference that appears to lurk around is the Blue theme of Facebook being replaced by Red.

identicalogo thumb Identi.ca, Federated Twitter Clone implements Twitter API We had reviewed identi.ca few days ago. The service better known as “federated Twitter clone” soon after its release was covered by majority of blogger because of its true Twitter-ish resemblance. It was indeed a good trial to rescue the refugees of Twitter and is capable enough to beat an over capacitated whale. In addition to its interesting and innovative features, the service has recently implemented a Twitter-compatible API that will provide an ease to developers and users. Now any app that is working with Twitter can also work with identi.ca by following the API root http://identi.ca/api.

twitterlogo thumb Identi.ca, Federated Twitter Clone implements Twitter APIThe new API seems to be promising as Dave Winer, Blogger and RSS pioneer, (who was really excited on inauguration of identi.ca ) has already tested it by substituting the Twitter’s URL with identi.ca’s. This will really help identi.ca to make itself a concreat micro-blogging platform and to gain huge public confidence. The only thing left is, it has not been tested by rest of the users and therefore, we cant predict anything right now.

oriango Oriango Updated; gets rid of the AdSense, at last! Searching over the net for content can be pretty tiring if you don’t have the right words to search for and even more irritating if the search engine displays far more results than you ever anticipate; articles containing your search word and when you click all it has is just your search word/phrase once in an entire piece. The idea of having an organized result sounds a big relief and Oriango adds to it with its no-registration just search, advertises and share contents for free.

We had  reviewed this site last month and presently it has undergone a major upgrade and by that I don’t mean they have introduced latest widgets or graphics but more importantly got done with those annoying AdSense ads.
