Twitter got money

Summize, the conversation search engine of Twitter, is said to be bought by the later. According to the sources close to Josh Chandler, the deal is likely to occur very soon. Summize is a very cool micro-blogging (Twitter only) search engine which also allows you to send tweets. The San Francisco based micro-blogging service will likely use its current raised money of $15 million on the new venture. The deal is likely to be announced next week, according to GigaOm. Both the companies are yet to have an official word on the deal.

Summize Logo Twitter’s association with the Northern Virginia based startup, is not new. More than a week ago, when they we’re busy restoring reply view, they officially recommended users to use the Summize search engine. Their website read:

We’re still working on the restoration of viewing replies (both via the API and on the web). This functionality will remain off tonight as we continue to work through the underlying problem.

In the meantime, we recommend checking out Summize. You can run queries like “to:username”? or “@username”? to see replies directed at you.

Twitter is concentrating more on everything except for their services. This is what I failed to understand, I mean what is the point of raising funds, having deals (like this one) and not concentrating on the core service, specially at a time when it is not doing well. They are certainly not focusing on their services the way they should have. Twitter is still not up completely. They should first fix the major problem first and then market it, otherwise its gona get more complex and very hard to fix after some time.
