jerryyang thumb Jerry Yang responds accusation Jerry Yang, co-founder and CEO of Yahoo has been constantly under attack by shareholders, Carl Icahn and now the latest entry in the list is ‘The New York Times’. Joe Nocera of The New York Times sent a public memo to Jerry saying “Oh Jerry, It’s No Longer Your Babyâ€?. The memo reads:

You can say all you want about how you were trying to protect employees with this plan. You were really trying to protect yourself. Rushed through by the board while you were supposedly negotiating with Microsoft in good faith, it actually encourages Yahoo employees to quit after a takeover, by guaranteeing them a financial windfall that Microsoft would have to pay. And since it cannot be upended even if the board is ousted, or the company is taken over, it also discourages anyone from trying to take over Yahoo.

unisfair Unisfair launches Virtual Job Fair Unisfair, a company backed by Sequoia Capital and Norwest Venture Partners and with over 400 virtual events for clients as big as Cisco, IBM and National Instruments is to launch online virtual job fairs. The company has created an online recruiting tool that lets both recruiters and job seekers to interact live.

According to the company the purpose of the step is to remove the expenses of travel and in turn improve productivity of everything related to jobs, from searching to recruiting. The company’s own survey suggests that 64 % of people in the HR they find great ease and improvement in recruiting through the virtual system.

yahoo1 Yahoo celebrates dead deal with Microsoft, shakes hands with Google After killing all hopes of getting a deal done with Microsoft, Yahoo has quickly jumped up to up a non-exclusive deal with Google that would give access to Yahoo to their AdSense for search and AdSense for content advertising.

This means that the search advertising for Yahoo will now be a mix of ads from Google’s AdSense and various other third parties along with its existing Panama system. All this as thought of by Yahoo will bring up to $800 million additional revenues a year with an immediate revenue of $250 – $450 million in the first twelve months. Despite all the colours that are filling up Yahoo’s cash canvas; it still; cannot achieve a staggering $31 per share that it could have had by giving a green go the deal with Microsoft.
