Just when things seemed to be a bit heading towards the anxiety zone, Andreessen, founder of Netscape, Opsware and Ning as well as the former CTO of AOL decides to add more feathers in his cap by joining Facebook’s board of directors. New York Times reports that Google with its largest contextual advertising network on the web; will hit the web world with the airing of a short show called “Cavalcade�. The man behind its development is Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family guy.

The plans are to distribute the show over via the countless web-sits running within them the Google AdSense code. This doesn’t mean that it would only run the short cartoon, there will still be pre-roll advertising still available to let the publisher gets his hands at the revenue. The surprising thing here is that Google makes sure that the content is only shown to those who have an interest for Cavalcade; which points in at young users.

Google has recently launched a completely new version of the Blogger post editor to give an ease to all bloggers. The new tools are rolled out in the blogger’s draft and if you want to enjoy its functionality then its necessary to login through draft.blogger.com instead of a blogger URL (www.blogger.com). The updates and changes makes it worth to use as the new editor provides a higher amount of flexibility and feasibility to bloggers.

The new editor with a clearer toolbar has undergo major changes. One of the major uplift is, an image icon that is now supporting better and improved image handling process. Bloggers can now upload several images at a time. The images will appear as the  thumbnails and you can later on add them into your post. As it had been reported last month that Yahoo had been tipping in its users who have registered domains with the small business site of Yahoo will be paying an annual fee of $34.95. This is an astounding 300% increase from the initial $9.95 that Yahoo had previously charged; this mammoth jump has definitely taken a stride ahead at turning off the users.

There have been notifications sent to those who hadn’t upgraded their account before the strike day (July 1 as had been announced). The increase according to Yahoo being ‘it has been done to match the cost of doing business, the process of domain registration and creation costs more on other similar service providers.’

Grou.ps, a social groupware provider, yesterday announced that it has concluded the first round of funding. According to the San Francisco based company, it has raised $1.1 Million in the Series A of funding. The round was lead by Golden Horn Ventures. Furthermore they have also disclosed that the company is going to open source its code of a limited version, under the Affero General Public License.

The company with its comprehensive online tools, currently has over 150,000 members worldwide and counting. The Turkish founder of the company, Emre Sokullu,  also founded SimpleKDE which is a lightweight windows manager, based on KDE for UNIX systems.

We have already covered about the legacy of Bill Gates here but I just thought I should add something about the man who I idolized for the larger part of my not so long life.

So here’s is to the man who changed the way I interact with computers!

For many, Bill Gates and his company Microsoft would more be remembered for the evil-doings and monopolization which led to their domination on desktop PCs but for me Bill Gates is a business man in a true sense of word. He truly knew the art of doing business. He broadened the company’s range of products,  and then pushed it so aggressively that it led to the the domination and success of his products. Bill Gates predicted “a computer in every home and on every desk”….and today its indeed in every home & on every desk and over 90% of those run Windows. So for me Gates will be remembered as one of the best-known business men and one of the best entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution.
