Morange

Don’t have an iPhone, Windows Mobile Device or Blackberry? Want push mail, instant messaging and more? No sweat, Morange’s latest version, Morange V does all this and much more now!

I’ve been using Morange ever since version 2. They had version 3 since some time, and just today I stumbled upon Morange V. The feature list is incredible and this little J2ME application can turn ANY mobile phone (on which it can run) into a very smartphone! The push mail feature is specially a true winner and tops all other features it offers. Infact, Push Mail, IM, and Web Browser are the only old features transferred from Morange 3, all others are new. They also have the option of Facebook and Yahoo Messenger in the mobile application ( although Facebook isn’t listed in the feature list) although I wasn’t able to get Facebook to work.

The focus of this application has changed significantly since Morange 3 and it has been redesigned around a social network. It has photo sharing like Facebook where anyone can comment on the pictures, a news feed like Facebook as well, and a Saying feature like Twitter ( which hopefully wont go down! ). I’m very excited with the features of this application.

The mobile application and the website work well together. As soon as I uploaded the my profile picture, the picture on the mobile application was updated which was really nice. The application has nice animations and eye candy which really please the user. The home page has a dock, which can be customised and new features can be added easily from there which are developed by the Morange team so the hassle of updating can be avoided.

Check out the great feature list from their website:

New features like Mobile Stock Alert, Sports News, etc, will be automatically updated to your mobile little by little. Get ready to be surprised!

The only problem I have with this application so far is the absence of the really useful and great “Push RSS? feature which used to automatically update the feeds like Push Mail in Morange 3 and earlier. I hope they introduce that feature soon though.

Overall, it’s a highly recommended software for people who like to stay connected on the go. Highly productive, and very useful.
