LiveLeader, a new web based live chat service, has polished up its new service offering to try and have a serious go at the sluggish, pop up trodden live chat market segment. LiveLeader is completely web based so users wont have to install anything (no plugins, no downloads).
I have tried the demo of the service and I must admit that I have come up really satisfied with it. The live chat service provides host of features for organizations to quickly respond to visitors along with metrics on their location and browser type etc.
I would briefly run down some of the most important features. The service is completely web based and have been implemented via some slick AJAX. The UI is quick and responsive even for people having low bandwidths.
The live chat experience usually suffers big time when users click on the live chat widget and than have to wait for a long time for the operator to get free. This usually ends up with the user closing the widget. Dynamic chat invites is LiveLeader’s solution to this problem. The live chat link on any particular site will only be displayed if and when there is a free operator to respond to the users. This way no one has to wait a single minute and there are no unkept promises.
LiveLeader has also provided alot of canned messages that enable operators to quickly respond to customer queries with stock quotes, welcome greetings and the likes. The messages could be categorized into custom defined categories. I however would also like to have the option to tag messages. Permissions could be defined to determine which type of administrative staff has access to which messages.
The service also allows you to visualize the origin of your visitor on Google Maps, which would be helpful in designating a particular visitor to operators serving that region. In addition to this you can also find out the search terms that were punched into Google to come up to your site. Furthermore you can also find out the current web page of the user, the referrer page, the domain and organization from where the user originated, his ISP and browser type etc. You can also ban certain users based on their cookie or IP address.
The service is free for one operator and has a premium package starting at $9 per month. See pricing here. You can try the demo here.
