TechCrunch20 Officially Launched

The official website for Techcrunch20 Conference is now live and the process of company submissions and attendee registrations has been kick started, along with a dedicated blog (Just wondering how many more blogs will Mike launch and whether he is really human). The conference is the brainchild of Michael Arrington, Techcrunch and Jason Calacanis, co-founder Weblogs Inc and has received sponsorship from Sequoia Capital.
The conference is formatted on the 20-20 principle with the organizers selecting 20 experts from media and technology to judge and select the 20 best startups that would launch before the start of the conference, which would be in September. The best part about the event is that “money cant buy you happiness” i.e you wont have to pay a dime to present, and merit alone would be the decider. So no one could complain that they could not present just because they did not have the resources to do so, while other lamers enjoyed the spotlight.
Confirmed industry experts include Marc Andreessen (Co-founder, Ning), Chris Anderson (Editor-In-Chief, Wired Magazine), Roelof Botha (Partner, Sequoia Capital), Mark Cuban (Founder, HDNet), Om Malik (Founder, GigaOm), Robert Scoble (Scobleizer), and Dave Winer (Scripting News).
