MGM Partners with iTunes

MGM studio has partnered with Apple to provide its movies on iTunes, which will take the iTunes movies database to 500+ movies. The studio will begin with 25 movies including “Dances With Wolves,? “Mad Max,? and “Rocky,? and will add other titles to iTunes in coming weeks. At the moment MGM wants to just put movies from its catalog on iTunes and has refrained from putting the current or upcoming titles online. iTunes movie service began with just Disney on board in September last year but has since added Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate. Ever since the launch Apple has sold 2 million movies online.
This is another win for Apple in recent times. The company is on merry notes and have just closed a deal with EMI to sell DRM free music and announced the sale of 100 million iPods.
