IconnectE, the Asian LinkedIn would be officially launching on 28th of March. The stated purpose of IconnectE is to build meaningful business relationships. According to their own site:

This is achieved by providing members to a power professional profile that more succinctly conveys who they are and reasons to interact, through relevant marketing content and events.

IconnectE is based in Singapore and is funded by the Economic Development Board of Singapore. The company is also part of Microsoft´s Early Adopter Initiative for implementing .Net 3.0.

A free basic account offers you the ability to network with unlimited users and access other resources bundled with 2MB of storage. Additional storage of upto 15MB alongwith profile customization options could be acquired for a fees of S$ 180 per annum. As a launch premium users could post free events till 1st of July, which normally would be charged. Users will also be view and analyze market and product trends and business intelligence.

IconnectE is an entrant to a market whose worth has already been validated by LinkedIn. There is a clear demand for this in the Asian markets specially China and India, where business is booming and technology investments and venture creation is at all time high. They are the first comers to this market in Asia and all they need is flawless execution to make it big.
