Many wouldn’t have been surprised hearing about all the lay offs in the countless companies, but EA saying goodbye to 600 of its employees. The reason is obvious; cutting down costs and no matter how surprisinig this might sound coming from a company with such concrete foundations, it has happened.
With this, EA could be saving as much as $50 million in annual savings. In a statement EA stated:
EA announced today a cost reduction plan, which will include the elimination of approximately six per cent of the Company’s workforce. The company estimates its cost reduction plan will result in annual pre-tax cost savings of approximately $50 million
